About the New Testament

The New Testament holds 27 books, 260 chapters and 7,957 verses, about 26% of the Bible.

The four Gospels and Acts are long books. Together they hold about 60% of the New Testament's verses, so more than half of your draws will come from the life of Jesus or the story of the first churches. The rest come from the letters and Revelation.

The letters are arguments that run from paragraph to paragraph. A verse that begins with “For”, “Therefore” or “But” is leaning on what was just said, so open the surrounding verses before you decide what it means.
